"We Paid Almost Everybody, Not ₦20,000, But ₦60,000" – Keyamo Says As He Makes Clarification.

The Immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo, has noted his ministry paid individuals who were meant to benefit from the ₦52 billion he was accused of misappropriating, noting that the beneficiaries were not paid ₦20,000 as it was reported, but they were paid the sum ₦60,000.

Mr Festus Keyamo made this disclosure while addressing journalists, shortly after he was screened by the national assembly, stating it clearly that the records are there for everyone to see.

Mr Keyamo said: “We paid almost everybody, not ₦20,000, ₦60,000, let me remind everybody, and the records and I want to say it publicly today now that anybody can approach the National Directorate of Employment.”

Furthermore, the Former Minister made it known that the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, paid the money directly to the bank accounts of all the beneficiaries.

On the other hand, Mr Keyamo used the opportunity to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for giving him the opportunity to serve the country once again. He also thanked the senators, stating it clearly that he will never for any reason disappoint them.

It should be recalled that the senator representing the people of Abia Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Darlington Nwokocha yesterday accused Festus Keyamo of disrespecting the national assembly by refusing to give account of the sum of ₦25bn that was given to his ministry, when he was the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, during the adminstration of former President Buhari.
