Gov Mbah appoints Ladi Akeredolu-Ale MD Enugu broadcasting service

Punch papers reports that Enugu State’s Governor Peter Mbah has nominated Mr. Ladi Akeredolu-Ale, of Channels Television, as the organization’s managing director.

Before being appointed, Akeredolu-Ale oversaw current affairs at the Lagos State headquarters of Channels television.

His appointment was announced in a statement dated Tuesday in Enugu and signed by Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, Secretary to the State Government.

According to Onyia, the seasoned journalist is anticipated to contribute his more than 30 years of journalism experience to the public broadcasting service.

The state-owned media service will become one of the best revenue-generating organizations in the state, he claimed, sparking a media revolution and inspiring radical changes in media innovation and creativity.

He is a multiple award winner, having received the Nigeria Media Merit Award in 2001 for Television Presenter and Reporter of the Year, the Diamond Award for Media Excellence in 2004 for Reporter of the Year, and the Nigeria Media Merit Award Program Presenter of the Year in 2019.

He has approximately 30 years of experience in television broadcasting, and from March 2009 to February 2017 he served as the corporation’s director-general and chief executive, according to Onyia.

The university of Ilorin and the university of Lagos, respectively, awarded Akeredolu-Ale bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sociology in 1992 and 1998, the speaker said.

In 2011, Akeredolu-Ale completed the Lagos Business School Chief Executive’s Program.
