Igbo Leaders Who Are In Abj To Discuss An End To The Sit-at-home Order Should Hurry Back Home- Ohaneze Ndigbo

the Southeast region of Nigeria has experienced a significant level of insecurity, with various factors contributing to the prevailing situation. One prominent issue that has gained attention is the sit-at-home orders imposed by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. These orders have had a substantial impact on the socio-economic bility of the region, disrupting businesses, daily activities, and overall stability.

However, Ohaneze Ndigbo, has lament the solution to the detrimental impact of sit-at-home orders on the socio-economic well-being of the South East geo-political zone lies not in meetings held in Abuja, but in the unity of certain non-state actors within the zone. They propose a collaboration between these actors and sincere influential figures in Igbo land.

The group urges Igbo leaders currently engaged in discussions or negotiations to bring an end to the sit-at-home to promptly return to their homeland. They emphasize the need for these leaders to inquire further and identify the individuals and factors that have successfully fostered peace in certain states within the zone, even during times of crises.

Ohaneze Ndigbo suggests that these peacemakers are willing to replicate their successful approaches throughout the entire Southeast, provided that the Igbo political leaders are willing to listen. President Tinubu is urged to request those attending the Abuja gathering to include these individuals who have contributed to the peaceful situation in Abia State, despite the prevailing insecurity in the Southeast.

Ohaneze Ndigbo said that solution to the sit-at-home orders that have destroyed the socio-economic bility of the South East geo-political zone is not in Abuja meetings but in the cohesion of some non-state actors in the zone in collaboration with sincere key players in Igbo land.

The group asked that the Igbo leaders who are in Abuja to discuss or negotiate an end to the sit-at-home should hurry back to their homeland,

“ask more questions, look out for those who and what made peace possible in some States in the zone even in the heat of crises “.
