JUST IN: NURTW president, 21 others arrested over alleged killing

The President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Tajudeen Baruwa, along with 21 other individuals, including three national officers of the union, are currently under police custody in Abuja according to Punchng.

Their detention is linked to charges of alleged criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, public disturbance, and actions likely to incite a breach of peace.

Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, confirmed these developments in an exclusive interview on Thursday night.

She stated that once the police investigation is completed, the suspects will face legal charges.

Adeh explained, “The NURTW president was arrested alongside 21 others.

They’re being charged with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, public disturbance, and conducts likely to cause a breach of peace.

They’ll be arraigned in court once the investigation is concluded.”
