I Received Calls From Friends, Especially From The South, Asking Me What’s Happening In Kano—Dakata

During an interview with Arise , Kabiru Dakata, Executive Director, Centre for Awareness on Justice and Accountability, stated that he received calls from friends, especially from the south, Asking him what was happening in Kano due to the demolition carried out in the state. He stated that the narrative created outside Kano is different from the reality inside, pointing out that the people of the state are jubilant and happy over the Demolition in the state.

He also revealed that the current governor campaigned on the path he’s treading by promising to acquire government properties that have been sold in the public interest. He added that those properties that have been retrieved would be used in the best interest of the people.

According to him, “Let me first of all commend Arise TV for giving us the opportunity to say our path because the narrative created outside Kano is different from the reality in Kano. Kano people are jubilant and happy because school structures are now being recovered, and hospitals given out to family members are now being recovered to use for the public’s interest. So, outside, I receive calls from friends, especially from the southern part of the country, asking, Kabiru, what’s happening in Kano? I told him. The people in Kano State gave the current governor a mandate to do what he’s doing. “
