'If Nigeria Can Move Away From Military Coups, Any Country Can Do That As Well' – Aliyu Gebi

The National Co-ordinator of the Security Governance Initiative, Aliyu Gebi has alleged that if Nigeria can move away from military coups, any nation in the world can also follow it footsteps. He said in an interview with Arise Tv news that the crisis in Niger is still resolvable if Nigeria can intervene by using its diplomatic tie with Niger Republic. He also argued that Nigeria needs to look outwardly and play a leadership role in watching over other Nations.

He said, ”Definitely this is an issue that Niger and Nigeria can resolve on behalf of Ecowas. But also countries like the United States of America need to come out clearly to state their stance. It is not fashionable to have coups anymore, Nigeria already moved away from coups. If Nigeria can move away from military coups, any country can do that as well. We have down seven democratic successful roll-over and it’s very significant. But perhaps Nigeria needs to look more outward and be their own brother keeper.”
