BREAKING: Nobody can suspend me from PDP – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike has dared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to suspend him from the party.

The Nation paper reported that, in an exclusive interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme monitored on Wednesday by The Nation, the former Rivers Governor explained that he was working for President Bola Tinubu and not the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Before and after the 2023 elections, the PDP’s internal turmoil was exacerbated when Wike accused the party of acting with impunity.

How can anyone suggest excluding me, he asked? A nation that offered the governor? An area that sent three senators? A state that generated 32 members of the Assembly? a state where 11 out of 13 House of Representatives were born.

“The person who wants to suspend me is the same person who couldn’t provide an Assembly, a Governor, or three Senators. I haven’t seen the guy in PDP who will suspend me. Nobody will take action.

“Who will punish me? It is my responsibility to demand punishment from those who disobeyed the party’s rules during a particular rotation. Anyone who suggests that I should be suspended will be dared by me. I’m a man of integrity.

“My party responded to a letter I sent them on my nomination by advising me to accept it. Ignore their rants; they are all regretting what they did, and that is what caused the party to become what it is now. I made an effort to promote equity, justice, and fairness.

The action we’ve taken to help President Tinubu is supported by God. My appointment as FCT minister has angered certain APC members. Do I need to play games at my level? Why are you adding my name? I’m still a PDP supporter. I’m an adult; if I want to play a part, I’ll do it. I don’t belong to the APC.
