Tinubu Appoints Wike FCT Minister, Keyamo Ation

President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Festus Keyamo, Ation Minister.

Ajuri Ngelale, Presidential spokesman, confirmed the portfolios at Aso Rock on Wednesday.

Kwankwaso Meets Atiku

Two leading opposition figures in the country, former Vice president Atiku Abubakar and a former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, recently held a meeting in Abuja.

The meeting took place at the residence of the former Governor and leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) late Tuesday.

Though details of the meeting are yet to be known as those close to the two leaders have kept sealed lips, Daily Trust gathered that the meeting might not be unconnected with the political situation in the country and recent developments.

Gov Makinde Advocates Single Term Of Six Years For Politicians

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has advocated for a single term of five or six years for politicians.

Makinde said politicians should emulate the single term leadership of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).

He was reacting to PFN’s National President, Bishop Wale Oke’s remark that the body’s leadership does not allow for a second tenure.

Oke disclosed this while speaking at the opening ceremony of PFN’s National Executive Retreat in Ibadan.

Tribunal Reserves Judgement In LP’s Petitions Against Gov Mbah, Others

The Enugu State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, on Wednesday, reserved judgment on the petitions challenging the election of Governor Peter Mbah after parties in the matter adopted their written addresses.

During the resumed proceeding of the Tribunal, Justice Akano who led the panel, reserved judgment on a date, he said would be duly communicated to the parties.

The candidate of the Labour Party, Chijioke Edeoga is challenging the declaration of Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party as the validly elected governor by the Independent National Electoral Commission in the March 18 governorship elections in the State.
