Some people in Jonathan's cabinet Didn't want him to concede defeat in 2015- Mohammed Adoke

A former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke has claimed some people in former President Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet who don’t want him to concede defeat later became the darlings of the administration of his immediate successor, President Muhammadu Buhari. It should be recalled that after Jonathan lost the 2015 presidential election, he called Buhari, the winner of the election to concede defeat.

Speaking about his former boss in an interview on Untold stories with Adesuwa, Mohammed Bello Adoke said, “The president conceded defeat as a sitting president even when there were grounds for him to have disputed the election. He listened to some of us, he rubbed mind with us, he had a mindset of his own don’t get me wrong. He had always said he was ready to use himself as a symbol of sacrifice for the democracy of this country to survive and for the unity of this country. And he has said admirably that no Nigerian’s blood was worth his ambition. And not only was it a precept, he lived it out. When there were some people within our government then, and I’m happy Osita Chidoka is there you can ask him. There were some people in the government who became the darlings of the Buhari’s administration that were actually trying to get President Jonathan not to concede defeat.”
