Ministerial List: Asiwaju has confirmed that politicians are recycled products –Hon Yekini Nabena

In an interview with the Sunday Sun paper, Hon Yekini Nabena, the former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed his disappointment with the quality of ministers assembled by President Bola Tinubu, the state of the ruling party as a haven for corrupt politicians, and his perspective on the performance of former President Muhammadu Buhari in comparison to his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan.

Regarding the calibre of ministers President Tinubu assembled, Nabena expressed his disappointment and shared his assessment of their capacity. He acknowledged that Tinubu may have been constrained in his choices due to political alliances, especially with governors who supported his victory. However, he believed that rather than appointing mostly past governors, Tinubu should have selected capable individuals to compensate them for their support.

Nabena criticized the appointment of former governors as ministers, stating that many of them had failed their respective states during their tenure. He questioned their ability to contribute positively at the federal level and expressed concern that they would bring the same mentality of being in charge, potentially causing conflicts of interest. He also pointed out that some of these former governors were supposed to be held accountable for mismanagement of funds during their time in office.

Nabena further expressed doubts about the ability of these ministers to provide effective governance, considering their past records. He suggested that fresh faces would have been more suitable for the roles, as they would be more dedicated to serving the country’s best interests.

“Asiwaju has confirmed that politicians are recycled products by giving Nigerians a set of bad politicians that did not mean well for their states. We need fresh people that will help the president not destroyers like the crop of people he has assembled.”

Nabena concluded by highlighting concerns about the loyalty and intentions of the appointed ministers, suggesting that some might use their positions to further their own political agendas rather than genuinely supporting the government. He emphasized the need for new faces who could positively impact the country, rather than individuals who might potentially cause trouble and frustration within the government.
