Why The Last 5 Seasons Was A Successful Era For Chelsea

The 2023/24 season will be a new slate for Chelsea after their horrible performance and the subsequent bad results in the just concluded 2022/23 season.

The last season was supposedly a part of an era at Chelsea, and despite the shortcomings of the West London club, the last 5 seasons was a memorable one for the West London club. 

Between the 2018/19 season and the 2022/23 season, Chelsea had about 5 different Managers including Maurizio Sarri, Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Bruno Saltor.

Maurizio Sarri delivered the UEFA Europa league trophy for Chelsea at the end of the 2018/19 season and the West London club also reached the Finals of the EFL Cup before losing it to Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.

The following season which was the 2019/20 season, Maurizio Sarri had left Chelsea alongside Eden Hazard while the West London club was banned from signing new Players. Despite that, they reached the Finals of the FA Cup and qualified for the UEFA champions league after finishing on the top 4 on the Premier League table. 

Chelsea started the 2020/21 season with Frank Lampard but the England International was fired during the middle of the season and Thomas Tuchel took over. The West London club lost the FA Cup title to Leicester City under Thomas Tuchel before winning the UEFA Champions League trophy. 

The success of the West London club in the UEFA Champions League in the 2020/21 season led them to the glory of the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in the 2021/22 season. They also reached the Finals of the EFL Cup and FA Cup during that season.
