How Chinese Man Allegedly Killed His Nigerian Girlfriend In Kano- Eye Witness
A Chinese man identified as Geng Quanrong has been arrested for alleged murder of a 23-year-old Nigerian woman, Ummukulthum Sani at Janbulo quarters, Kumbotso local government area of Kano State.
According to a report by Daily Trust, the incident happened around 10pm on Friday. The suspect reportedly visited the deceased at her parent’s house where he allegedly took her life.
Speaking with BBC News Pidgin’s correspondent, family members of the deceased and residents of the area disclosed that the lady and the Chinese national had been in a romantic relationship for a while but there was a rift between them recently.
Ahmad Abdullahi, a family friend of the deceased and witness of the incident disclosed that Geng was caught in an attempt to flee the crime scene. He added that the Chinese national was returning to his car that was parked outside the house when he was nabbed……….Continue Reading
After Geng was nabbed by the residents, Abdullahi disclosed that they rushed the victim to the nearest hospital but upon getting there, the doctors pronounced her dead. The doctors said she had too much blood and thereby lost her life before getting to the hospital.
Another witness, Bappa Sani, who spoke with BBC News Pidgin, claimed that the suspect slit Ummukulthum’s throat. He noted that the deceased’s friendship with the Chinese national had been going on for a while before things got sour between them.
Narrating how the incident happened, Sani disclosed that the Chinese man allegedly jumped fence to gain access to the deceased’s room at night and slit her throat with knife.
Bappa Sani said the deceased was married to someone else but the marriage did not last. He said Geng and Ummukulthum had been close friends prior to her first marriage. Their relationship however became more intimate after her divorce before it became sour in recent times, he noted.
The Kano State Police Spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna has confirmed the incident. He also revealed that the suspect, Geng Quanrong has been arrested by the police and investigations to unravel what lead to the death of Ummukulthum have kick-started.
