A suspect in the murder and dismembering of a lady in Apomu, Isokan Local Government Area of Osun State, Kabiru Oyeduntan, has narrated how he helped his friend carry out the crime.
Oyeduntan, in an interview with a National daily, The Punch, divulged that he held the girl’s legs while his friend, now at large, strangled her.
According to him, the said friend, simply identified as Akin, promised him the sum of N50,000.
The 39 years old man said his friend visited him in company of the deceased and told him she was his girlfriend. Unaware that he wanted to kill her, he excused them to enjoy themselves, but on later re-entering the room saw him strangling her.
The suspect claim that he would have fled, but for the pleas of his friend who then promised him N50,000 to help him. After killing the lady, Akin then proceeded to dismember her.
Oyeduntan however backtracked, saying his friend had the previous day suggested that they kill the lady for money rituals, a proposal he refused.
The suspect’s elder brother’s wife sensed that something was wrong and informed the police who arrested the suspect as he went to buy marijuana.
