Atiku Abubakar Made The Duty Of The Presidential Election Tribunal Difficult – Adesunbo Onitiri

Chief Adesunbo Onitiri, a sociopolitical critic and activist, claimed that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the most recent general elections, was making it impossible for the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to carry out its duties.

Chief Adesunbo Onitiri reportedly made this known in a public statement, according to The Sun paper.

Recall that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, won the presidency of the nation over other formidable candidates, including Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP. This is according to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory is currently being contested at the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja by the Labour Party’s Peter Obi and the People’s Democratic Party’s Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Now that the judges have heard all of the petitions, Nigerians are waiting for the court’s decision.

Chief Adesunbo Onitiri expressed his reaction to the situation by saying, “An election had been held, and the winner had been declared and sworn in as president. Atiku ought to avoid offending Nigerians’ sensibilities now that the country is waiting on the decision of the presidential election petition against President Tinubu.

He added; “The Presidential Election Tribunal was having a tough time performing its duty because of Atiku Abubakar, and was subtly trying to sway public opinion in opposition to what the tribunal’s decision might be,” the statement from the Presidential Election Tribunal reads.
