Governor Obaseki trying hard to blame his incompetence on President Tinubu, Says Blessing Agbomhere

Blessing Agbomhere, the South South Zonal Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused Edo state Governor Godwin Obaseki of attempting to shift blame for his over seven years of incompetence onto the new administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Obaseki, through his Special Adviser on Media Projects, Crusoe Osagie, had blamed the Federal Government for the deteriorating condition of federal roads in the state and the resulting hardships caused by the removal of petrol subsidy, leading to significant price increases for essential commodities.

In a press release signed by Agbomhere, he contended that Obaseki has conveniently chosen to lay the blame for his lackluster performance on President Tinubu’s administration, which has been in power for less than three months.

Agbomhere emphasized that Obaseki has failed to demonstrate meaningful achievements during his extended time in office, instead relying on showcasing the achievements of his predecessor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, such as the civil service secretariat, as if they were his own.

Despite taking office in 2008 when the state faced economic challenges, Agbomhere praised Oshiomhole’s administration for successfully initiating and completing various road projects, including a modern Specialist Hospital.

He challenged Governor Obaseki to showcase his own accomplishments rather than relying on promises through Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with dubious entities, a practice for which his government has become known, with no tangible results to show for it.
