Tribunal judgement: If I were these clients, I would change my lawyers- Liborous Oshoma

A lawyer and political analyst, Liborous Oshoma has said if he were Peter Obi, the presidential candidates of Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of PDP, he would change his lawyers.

Oshoma said this following the ruling of the presidential election petition tribunal which upheld President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory at the 2023 presidential election. According to reports, the tribunal dismissed the petitions filed by the Labour Party and the PDP for lack of merit.

But reacting to the judgement on Nigerian info fm, Liborous Oshoma said, “Because there is so much sentiments attached to elections, and we believe that once it is a senior advocate, they would do a thorough job. In most cases, some of these senior advocates with due respect to them don’t even read these things. The boys in the office will prepare them, because also they are time bound, they are working against time. So let us quickly put something in and then when we get to the tribunal, we begin to test the law.”

When asked if he feels that the cases presented by the LP and the PDP were not well prepared?

He said, “Yes. I told somebody yesterday that if I were these clients, I would change my lawyers.”
