Foundation Condemns Media Attack On REA

Foundation for Economic Advocacy Advancement (FFEAA) has decried a recent press release by the Coalition of West African Investigative Journalists (COWAFIJ) against the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) under Engr Salihijo Ahmad.

FFEAA, in a statement signed by its national publicity officer, Mr Dolapo Olanrewaju described the entire press conference by COWAFIJ as an attempt at ridiculing the giant strides of REA.

The foundation described COWAFIJ as an arm of the opposition committed to making mockery of the advancement of the federal government in the power sector and reminded the naysayers of the intensification of World Bank in providing alternative sources of power for rural electrification in Nigeria, through an additional commitment of $750million grant to Nigeria.

The PDP Action 2023, a political pressure group, says the former governor of Sokoto State, Sen. Aminu Tambuwal, never betrayed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Nigeria in the course of his service to the party and the nation.

The Chairman of the group, Dr Rufus Omeire, in a statement he issued in Abuja on Sunday, described Tambuwal (PDP-Sokoto) as a team player, who had defended the ideas of the party and interest of Nigeria at every point in time.

He condemned an allegation that Tambuwal during the PDP presidential primary election in 2022 betrayed the party.

Speaker Abbas disowns aide over over criticisms of Buhari

The Speaker of House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas has emphatically has disowned his media aide, Godfrey Gaiya, over his criticism of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Gaiya had in the interview accused Buhari of failure to fight corruption in his eight years in office, contrary to his promise before his election.

He also accused the former President of deceiving Nigerians to believe that he is righteous, while many became billionaire under his watch with corrupt practices.
