Gabon: Bayo Onanuga Reacts As Military Take Over Power In Gabon.

Recently, Punch paper reported that army officers, on Wednesday, appeared on national television in Gabon to announce that they have taken over power in the Central African Country.

Speaking during the broadcast on national television, the soldiers who introduced themselves as members of the CTRI (The Commitment of Transition and Restoration of Institution) noted that they were annulling the results of Saturday’s election, in which President Ali Bingo was declared the winner, adding that they have decided to defend peace by putting an end to the regime in power.

This particular information has attracted a lot of attention as many Nigerians, including a well known Nigerian politician, chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, co-founder of The Magazine, appointed managing director of the New Agency of Nigeria, and active member of the APC, Mr Bayo Onanuga, took to the social media platform to react.

Reacting to this information, the former media aide to the former governor of Lagos State and current President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, Mr Bayo Onanuga, who described the coup leaders ad power-hungry dictators said, “Another instance of a military coup in Africa. The progress of democracy is being hindered, largely due to authoritarian African leaders who cling to power”.
