Former APGA Chairman, Okwu Reacts When Asked If Tribunal Can Discharge Its Functions Creditably

Maxi Okwu, a former national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and a public affairs expert, responded when asked if the Abuja-based Presidential Election Petition Tribunal can effectively carry out its tasks.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission reported that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, defeated other leading candidates to win the most significant political position in the nation, including Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

The victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently being contested in the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja by the presidential candidates of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Nigerians are currently anticipating the court’s decision after the justices have heard all of the petitions.

According to a report in The Daily Post paper, Maxi Okwu stated in an exclusive interview that the Election Petition Tribunal should take that action since they have all the materials they need, with the exception of the human element, which is will. We are unable to forecast that. But as they pledged by oath of office, they have everything at their disposal to carry out their duties.
