For me, my watchword is transparency. Everything I do has always been to satisfy Nigerians-Festus Keyamo,

According to PUNCH NEWSPAPER, the newly appointed Minister of Ation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has stated that his appointment was not a coincidence but a deliberate and strategic decision made by President Bola Tinubu. He also mentioned that he intends to continue the work done by the previous administration in the ation sector, without making major changes. Keyamo emphasized the importance of transparency in his role and ensuring that the Nigerian people are kept informed of their actions to avoid past complaints.

Keyamo said, “For me, my watchword is transparency. At every point, the Nigerian people must understand what we are doing and carry everyone along so that we don’t have some of the complaints we had in the past. We are serving the Nigerian people. Everything I do has always been to satisfy the Nigerian people.

“We are going to move from very complex issues to simple issues that every Nigerian faces, complaints they have. They may not know the work we are doing behind in terms of safety, but usually, people appreciate what they see every day like the cleanliness of the environment, and how early they get their flights among others.

“At every point in time, we must put the people first. I intend to start getting briefings from the directors first, then agencies, starting tomorrow. The Permanent Secretary should draw a schedule for the briefings,” he stated.

In his opening statement, the Permanent Secretary praised the minister for his strong legal background and focus on achieving results. He emphasized that the minister’s appointment in the Ation and Aerospace Development Ministry was not a coincidence, but rather a result of divine intervention.

The Permanent Secretary mentioned that the ministry is determined to revitalize the ation sector by implementing a strategic plan. He assured the minister that the workforce is fully dedicated to providing him with the necessary support.

Additionally, the Permanent Secretary urged the minister to utilize his extensive knowledge to resolve any legal disputes within the ministry.
