Five Killed As Suspected Herdsmen Invade Benue Community

Five persons have killed as suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked Anter community, Mbalagh Council Ward in Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State.

It was gathered that the assailants attacked the community on Tuesday evening, July 2.

The victims have identified as  Ave Usaar, Temanenge Kyer, Kpungu Orbakpa, Aondoakura Akume and Terkimbir Orbakpa.

According to Daily Trust, bodies of the three victims have found and buried while the to recover the remains of the remaining two was ongoing.

The Special Adviser to the Benue State on Security Matters, Lt. Col. Paul Hemba (retd), who confirmed the incident said he received the reports of two persons killed in the community on Tuesday by armed herders.

Hemba said he was not yet aware of the killing of three other victims.
