The Nigerian Senate is currently holding a private meeting where senators have refused to support President Bola Tinubu’s decisions regarding Niger Republic.

According to Sahara Reporters, the senators are against the deployment of soldiers and the power supply cut-off initiated by the Nigerian government.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s plea for support has been ignored by the senators. Previously, Tinubu, who is the chairman of ECOWAS and the Nigerian President, informed the National Assembly about the possibility of military action against the military leaders in Niger Republic.

However, the senators are against Tinubu’s actions and are discussing the use of force in Niger Republic.

The majority of the senators oppose the deployment of soldiers and the power supply cut-off.

The Senate President’s appeal for endorsement of Tinubu’s steps has been rejected by the senators.
