Governors from the 36 States of the federation are in the presidential villa, Abuja, meeting with President Bola Tinubu. Led by the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) and governor of Kwara, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, they were received in audience at 12.30 pm in the Council Chamber by the president.It is the first time the governors are meeting the President as a collective under the NGF since his Inauguration.
Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) and Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, disclosed this in a communique after an emergency meeting of the Forum on Tuesday.cRecall that the President had on June 19 approved the immediate dissolution of the Governing Boards of all Federal Government parastatals, agencies, institutions, and government-owned Companies.
Abdulrazak said governors have taken urgent action to combat the devastating effects of this natural disaster and safeguard national food security.
The Forum received a briefing from the Director Generals of the National Emergency Management Agency and Nigerian Meteorological Agency on the incidence of flooding across the country and deliberated on urgent proactive measures to save lives, livelihood, critical infrastructure and safeguarding national food security.
