Ex-President Buhari Should Be Investigated In Connection With Emefiele’s Actions – Kingdom Okere

Kingdom Okere, the convener of Lawyers in Defence of Democracy, called on the Department of the State Security (DSS) to investigate former President Muhammdu Buhari in connection with the actions of the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele.

During an interview with Arise TV on Friday, Okere said the actions of Emefile as the apex bank governor got approval from the president.

In his words, he said, “Former President Buhari should be investigated in connection with Emefiele’s actions. Whatever Emefiele did as CBN governor had presidential approval. If the DSS needs to dig anything, it should be traceable to Buhari and he should be brought to book”

Speaking further, Okere said, “They did not find any traceable account owned by Emefiele that is financing terrorism, and I stand to be wrong. The DSS should give us whatever charge they have filed, and at least, it should be attached with proof.

Lastly, he said, “We are calling of Present Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to allow the overzealousness of the General Director of the DSS to tarnish his hard-earned believing in the rule of law”
