Ex Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel Confirms Next Job

Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has indicated interest in leading England should the role become available after the World Cup.

Tuchel was unceremoniously sacked by Chelsea, leaving him jobless, less than 18 months after winning the Champions League and four months after the club’s new owners took control.

After departing Stamford Bridge last week, the German rejected down his initial job offer from Bayer Leverkusen before finally choosing former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.

According to the sources, there has not been any communication between the two sides and no indication that Southgate would resign from his position. Following a disappointing recent sequence of results, England’s performance in the World Cup is anticipated to determine Southgate’s future.

Last week, Southgate told reporters that he intended to oversee the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. He added: “As we speak now, I am contracted until this time in 2024, but I am also well aware that in football, you have to have results.

“So the plan is there and the desire for continuity is there too but I also don’t take for granted that you don’t underperform and expect to stay in that office.”
