El-Rufai Said He Chose A Muslim As Deputy As Most Christians Don't Vote APC In Kaduna – Kennedy Musa

Kennedy Musa, an APC chieftain from the southern part of Kaduna has recalled a statement made by the former governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai who said he chose a Muslim, Hadiza Balarebe to be his deputy governor because most Christians in the state don’t vote for APC.

Musa cited El-Rufai’s controversial statement while speaking on the alleged marginalization of people of Southern Kaduna during an interview with Channels TV. He said the administration of Governor Uba Sani has made 87 political appointments so far and only 18 are said to be from southern Kaduna. He added that he hoped the governor would not toe the line of his predecessor, former Governor El-Rufai.

According to Musa: “I just gave you a statistic now and you can check to confirm, out of 87 you have 18 [people from southern Kaduna]. I hope the governor will not toe the line of the former Governor El-Rufai because the former governor in the closing days, there was a social media clip that was leaked where he was saying to the Islamic Ulama’s that he decided to appoint a Muslim lady from Southern Kaduna as deputy because the Christian dominated areas were not voting APC. Now that is against both the spirit of the APC constitution and the national constitution”
