The Abuja Federal High Court ordered Ike Ekweremadu, the former Deputy Senate President, to temporarily lose 40 of his landed properties on Friday.

The interim forfeiture order affects 10 of Ekweremadu’s properties in Enugu, three in the USA, two in the UK, one in Lagos, nine in Dubai, and 15 in the Federal Capital Territory. As a result of his decision on the request, the judge mandated that the EFCC publish the interim forfeiture order of the properties in a national daily within seven days of the day the order was made.

Due to allegations of organ harvesting, Ekweremadu and his wife are currently on trial in the UK.

To get a report on any public objections to the properties, Justice Ekwo has, however, postponed the matter until December 5, 2022.
