Ministerial Screening: Go, And Sin No More – Senators tell Festus Keyamo After His Apology

According to Vanguard, Delta State ministerial candidate Festus Keyamo (SAN) eventually apologized to the Senate for his failure to appear before the 9th National Assembly when he served as Minister of State for Labor and Productivity under then-President Muhammadu Buhari.

Earlier, Vanguard reported that the Senate pre-examination degenerated into a rowdy session on Monday as Keyamo appeared before lawmakers.

This came after Sen.Darlington Nwokocha (LP Abia Central) made a point of order and filed a motion. Nwokocha called for Keyamo’s review to be dropped because of his previous attitude towards the National Assembly during his time as minister.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio then called for a closed session. Immediately after the session, he rushed to the villa to meet President Bola Tinubu.

After that, the screening session continued.

It was time for reconciliation, however, as Keyamo apologized to the Senate and said the list of beneficiaries of the N$52 billion public works program was under review.

Before being asked to bid the Senate goodbye and leave, Keyamo apologized to the Senate and was then asked to leave and sin no more.
