Olanipekun Defends Tinubu’s Electoral Victory In Final Written Address To Tribunal

The appeal submitted by Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and his party has been sought to be dismissed by the Presidential Election appeal Court by Wole Olanipekun, SAN, the attorney for President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima.

In his final written response to the petition of Obi and LP, Olanipekun referred to the arguments and witness testimony presented by the challengers as “frivolous, bogus, and based on hearsay.”

In his written speech, he requested that the petition be dismissed since it was totally without merit, substance, and bona fides.

According to the statement released by Channels Television on their official website, The Senior Advocate of Nigeria also argued that the “remote” contention of the petitioners that his client’s election should be cancelled for not scoring 25 percent or one-quarter of the votes recorded in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is not backed by any fact known to the law as the use of “and” in the constitution is conjunctive and not disjunctive.
