Buhari Makes First Official Public Appearance After Transfer of Power

According to the Guardian, On Wednesday, Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda, the governor of Katsina State, hosted the Katsina Development Fund 2023 Retreat, which was graced by former President Buhari.

This gathering, held at the Katsina State Government House, marked President Buhari’s initial official engagement following the transfer of power to President Tinubu on May 29th.

Governor Radda warmly welcomed Buhari upon his arrival at the venue and concurrently sanctioned the assignment and deployment of 14 fresh Special Advisers and 9 Heads of Agencies and Parastatals within Katsina State’s civil service.

Verifying these appointments, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the spokesperson for Governor Radda, declared in an official press release that these appointees will offer valuable support in efficiently managing the affairs of Katsina State.

Mohammed stated that these appointments take effect immediately and are in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended.

The newly-designated Special Advisers encompass an array of skilled individuals. Honorable Mannir Mu’azu Ruma will oversee Market Development, while Honorable Abubakar Ahmadi Tsanni will focus on Sports and Social Development.

Mallam Yusuf Ibrahim shall be responsible for Community Security Watch, while Honorable Shafi’u Abdu Duwan will take on Party Liaison duties.

Additionally, the Honorable Nasidi Mohammed Danladi will be in charge of Community Development, Rt. Honorable Ya’u Umar Gojo-Gojo will handle Political Affairs and Honorable Ya’u Ahmad shall be dedicated to Employment Promotion.

The remaining appointees consist of Mallam Nura Saleh Katsayal, who will oversee Primary Education; Honorable Shehu Abdu Daura, responsible for Drugs & Narcotics; Honorable Murtala Isah Kankara, in charge of National Assembly Matters; and Honorable Nasiru Lawal Aminu, dedicated to Infrastructure Development.

Honorable Engr. Mustapha Mahmud is also appointed for Human Capital Development; Honorable Aminu Lawal, responsible for Youth Development, and Honorable Suleiman Yusuf Jibia, tasked with overseeing Livestock and Grazing.

These diverse individuals bring their expertise and dedication to their respective roles, aimed at contributing to the betterment of Katsina State.

As per Mohammed’s announcement, Governor Radda extended his congratulations to the newly appointed officials and urged them to uphold honesty and fairness in carrying out their duties.

“We have a significant mission ahead, and it is essential that each of you align with our strategic agenda to create the Katsina State we envision,” he emphasized.
