Tinubu: I have a feeling that if they go on the way they are going, they will fail woefully-Adebayo

Adewole Adebayo, SDP presidential candidate, 2023 election, said that he has a feeling that if Tinubu’s government go on the way they are going, it will fail woefully.

Adewole Adebayo made the statement in an interview with AIT during the Focus program, when he was asked a follow-up question that he must have heard government justifies their concentration on big businesses, that if they thrive optimally at international standard, it expand and creates more jobs, more tax and increase government revenue.

Earlier on the program, Adebayo accused the government, of wanting certain Nigerian billionaires to be as rich as Bill Gates but they don’t want Nigerian teachers, barbers, drivers to live like American drivers etc, and that the focus of government is on lifting one side of the country.

However, he said that he has heard government saying that, when big businesses (investors) thrive, it creates jobs, and increases government revenue but they are yet to show him one country where that has taken place.

He said a country that is rich in resources, human resources etc, and has everything to develop, we don’t need people to come and develop our economy for us.

“It is not too late for the government to rethink and have a backup plan. I have a feeling (I’m saying it with every sense of responsibility) that if they go on at the rate they are going, they will fail woefully, not because they hate the people but because they are adopting modules that can never work.
