Giving Niger 7 Days Is Best So Other Coup Plotters Will Know How Much ECOWAS Frowns At It – Atolagbe

Maj. Gen. Anthony Atolagbe (Rtd), a former Chief Of Staff has come out to back the sanctions imposed on Niger by Nigeria following the military seize of power in the country.

According to Atolagbe who appeared in an interview on Arise TV last night, the past few years have seen 3 successful military coups happen in Africa and with the recent one happening in Niger, there’s no better language to use against these actions by the military than the use of force.

In his own words as seen on Arise TV last night…

“We’ve had 3 coups in West Africa before now and there’s no other language to use to tell coup plotters how much ECOWAS frowns at it. If you go to the article inside the AU protocol, it says there will be negotiations with them for 6 months. That’s means you are legitimising the government for 6 months but now ECOWAS says you have 7 days. After that 7 days, the necessary steps will be taken.”
