'Peter Obi Has Served The Purpose Of John The Baptist For The Divine President Tinubu' -Dave Umahi

According to the New Telegraph paper, Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, has encouraged Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, not to pursue an appeal against the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal’s judgment that upheld President Bola Tinubu’s victory. Umahi made this statement during a visit to Governor Francis Nwifuru in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, where he was inspecting federal roads in the South East.

Umahi expressed his belief that Peter Obi had already served his purpose in the election, akin to John the Baptist preparing the way for Christ. He suggested that Obi should not appeal because the tribunal’s judgment left no hope for it.

He also emphasized the need for unity in the South East to support President Tinubu and ensure equal treatment from the central government. Umahi commended the region for its improved voting performance and highlighted the importance of the Minister of Works’ appointment in rectifying past mistakes.
