Court remands suspected killer of two brothers in Kogi
Lokoja Chief Magistrates Court has placed Tahairu Abdul, 47, in custody for allegedly murdering two brothers in Kogi state.

The suspect was alleged to have conspired with others and killed Sylvester Mohammed-Sule, a traditional title holder, and his brother, Onwocho Sule, a retired naval officer, at their houses in Aku community in Ankpa Local government of Kogi on January 29, 2020.
The prosecutor, Inspector Toyin Momoh, told the court that the accused committed the offenses of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide punishable with death, and mischief by fire contrary to sections 97(1), 223, and 337 of the Penal Code.
Inspector Momoh added that police preliminary investigation led to the arrest of the suspected killer, Tahiru, who had been on the run since he allegedly committed the offense.
“The suspect, along with other accomplices now at large, killed the two brothers in their respective houses and also set several houses, vehicles, motorcycles, and other valuable property yet to be estimated ablaze,” Inspector Momoh added.
When the case came up before the court, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor requested the court to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
Chief Magistrate Mopa ordered that the accused be remanded at Koton-Karfe correctional center and adjourned the case to October 6, 2022.
