Checkout How Laycon and Whitemoney portrayed the two popular Nigerian tribes in their recent appearances

Nigeria is blessed with different rich cultures and tribes having their own unique way of dressing. In recent times, we have been able to modernize our cultural and traditional way of dressing as many have adapted to showcasing the different Nigerian cultures in a more fashionable and stylish way. The popular tribes in Nigeria, like the Igbo and Yoruba tribes were recently portrayed by two popular Big brother naija winners and reality TV stars which we will look at in this article.

1. Whitemoney

Hazel Oyeze Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, is the recent winner of the Big brother naija shine ya eyes reality TV show. Whitemoney recently represented one of the popular tribes and culture in Nigeria, known as the igbo culture. This he did by rocking a unique traditional Igbo outfit known as ‘Isi agwu’, which means, the head of a lion.

Whitemoney wore this outfit to his coronation ceremony where he was given the title of a chief in his home town, Enugu state. Looking at the picture of Whitemoney, you can see him wearing the isi agwu which is a common outfit known to be worn amongst the royal men in Igbo land for special occasions. He wore it wearing a red cap with two white feathers on each sides, a sign of authority and respect in the Igbo traditional culture.

2. Laycon

Winner of the Big brother naija lockdown reality TV show, Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba, popularly known as Laycon, also showcased the Nigerian culture in his recent appearance. Laycon rocked a statement Agbada with red coral beads, representing the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria. This outfit is worn amongst the Yoruba men for different special occasions especially for wedding ceremonies. Laycon who hails from Ogun state, Nigeria, proved that he knows his culture very well in this stylish Agbada as the color suited his skin perfectly.
