The 37-year-old, who has not been impressive since rejoining the Reds from Juventus, is one of the few players to have made over 1,100 professional career appearances and has scored over 800 official senior career goals for clubs and Portugal.

Although not in a good shape presently, Cristiano Ronaldo remains the only player to win Ballon d’Or without winning a single trophy.
