Nigerians react as INEC nullifies Binani’s declaration as Adamawa governor-elect

Nigerians have trolled the Independent National Electoral Commission after it nullified the declaration of Senator Aisha Dahiru, popularly known as Binani, as the winner of the governorship election in Adamawa State.

Binani was declared winner of the Adamawa governorship poll on Sunday with no result announced by the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Barrister Hudu Yunusa.

In reaction, the electoral body summoned Yunusa over the controversial declaration.

Its spokesperson, Festus Okoye made this known on Twitter while announcing the declaration as void.

Nigerians have since reacted to the nullification of the declaration, expressing dismay at the conduct of the electoral body over the election.

They should all calm down. Typical of Nigerians, when something goes wrong instead of conducting a detailed investigation, they are calling for scraping of INEC, some are even blaming democracy. No system is perfect, what needs to be done is find out what went wrong and fix it asa

Elections have always been problematic in Nigeria because we do not take time to prepare. After the elections everyone goes to sleep, till the next cycle then when things go haywire we start acting surprised.
