Shehu Sani Reacts As Tinubu Allegedly Bars Ex-Niger Delta Militants From Visiting Aso Rock

Former Kaduna lawmaker and civil rights activist, Senator Shehu Sani recently expressed his support for the President through a social media post. The President, according to media reports, has reportedly declined requests from ex-Niger Delta militants to visit him at the Aso Rock Villa in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The decision to restrict such visits reportedly stemmed from the controversy surrounding the President’s meeting with former leader of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Alhaji Mujahideen Asari Dokubo, earlier in June.

Sani, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), commended the President in a tweet from his verified Twitter handle. He asserted that the seat of power is a place of significance and sensitivity, and should not be used by active or former militants as a platform for incendiary remarks. Sani emphasized that all visitors to the Aso Rock Villa should uphold decency and decorum during their visits.
