Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, has addressed the issue of dating for people who make financial status ‘priority’ before relationship.
Dakolo expressed disbelief at those who claimed they can’t have relationship with someone who is struggling yet they are in the same situation.
He questioned why they should be required to date someone else when they embody what they want for in a spouse.
He compared it to someone who created a Whatsapp group and then removes his/herself.
The “Great Nation” singer said: “I can’t date a broke person ,I just Can’t .But you are broke and struggling yourself. And you want someone to date you. This is like creating a WhatsApp group and then removing yourself.”
Timi Dakolo, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and music producer who became famous after he emerged winner of the inaugural season of Idols West Africa in 2007. Accompanying his victory was a recording contract with Sony BMG, in addition to other prizes.
He is married Busola Dakolo (née Amupitan) in 2012. They have three children.
