BENUE ATTACK: The Armed Herdsmen Appeared In Black Attire &Attacked In Commando Fashion -Source
In a report published by Vanguard, 18 persons including children, were killed in a fresh attack by armed herdsmen on Ukohol and other 3 neighbouring villages in Guma local government area of Benue State. The marauders were said to have invaded the communities from Neighbouring Nasarawa State at about 4pm on Thursday, killed many traders who were trading at the village market at the time of the attack.
While confirming the attack, the Chairman of the local government, Dr. Michael Uba, revealed that 10 persons were killed In the market, while 8 were killed were killed in 3 neighbouring villages. He revealed that the herders appeared in Black attire and attacked in commando style. No village was spared by the herdsmen as the whole 10 council wards in Guma was attacked.
Uba further revealed that the attack has worsened the IDP’s situation in their area, as the People are fleeing from their homes.
When the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer was contacted, he confirmed the incident.
