Ganduje to host first APC NWC meeting on Tuesday

According to PUNCH, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, will meet with members of the National Working Committee on Tuesday, his first formal task as the party’s leader.

The development happened only two days after the former governor of Kano State was confirmed at the governing party’s 12th National Executive Committee meeting at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

Aside from Ganduje, Senator Ajibola Basiru, the Spokesperson for the Ninth Senate was also approved as the APC’s new national secretary during Thursday’s NEC meeting.

In an exclusive chat with our correspondent, a party chieftain who requested anonymity stated that the 73-year-old Kano State lawmaker will chair his first meeting at the party’s national headquarters on Tuesday.

“We have an NWC meeting on Tuesday,” he explained. It will be Ganduje’s first formal meeting.

“I’m sure it’s an effort on his part to get acquainted with the committee members in a more relaxed setting after the stress of the NEC meeting that approved his appointment.” Basiru has also pledged to attend the meeting.

On the meeting’s likely agenda, the party chieftain said that the emphasis will be on choosing officers to fill vacant posts in the NWC.
