Nyesom Wike Will Bring Sanity To Abuja, But He Is Still Being Seen As A Judas – Shehu Sani

Senator Shehu Sani, a former federal representative for Kaduna Central in the red chamber of the national assembly, has asked Nyesom Wike, the newly appointed minister of the Federal Capital Territory, to join the governing All Progressives Congress, or APC.

Nyesom Wike, a leader in the Peoples Democratic Party and a former governor of Rivers State in the South South geopolitical zone of the nation, fought against Atiku Abubakar’s bid for the presidency in the most recent general elections. He allegedly worked for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former national leader of the All Progressives Congress and governor of Lagos State.

In an exclusive interview, Senator Shehu Sani reportedly stated, “My advice is for Nyesom Wike to simply defect to the APC where he will be able to serve the party and also leave the PDP to play its role as an opposition party.” The statement was published by The Punch paper.

“It will be more respectable for him to join the APC and work without being distrusted by both sides,” the well-respected and revered PDP chieftain continued. “If he continues to divide his legs between the APC and the PDP, he will lead a very confused, disorganised, and unstable political career.”

“As a minister of the FCT, I have no doubt about his capacity as a performer,” he said. Nyesom Wike would restore rationality to Abuja, but he is still seen as a Judas, and the position he now holds—being his own 30 pieces of silver—is not a nice one. The ideal course of action would be for him to defect so that he could work excellently both for President Tinubu and the APC.
