Subsidy Removal: Let's Put Politics Aside, The President Has To Provide For The People – Edwin Clark

As the country continues to groan under the severe economic hardship occasioned by the soaring cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) across the nation, Elder Statesman, and Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark has urged the Bola Tinubu administration to make haste in providing for the masses who are feeling the pinch of the removal of petrol subsidies.

Speaking during an interview on ARISE TV’s ‘Prime Time’ program on Tuesday night, Clark, who is also the leader of the South-South socio-political group known as the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), pointed out that due to the subsidy removal, the economic hardship in the country has become so severe, that the Federal Government cannot afford to play politics with the issue of providing palliatives for suffering Nigerians.

He said; “You can imagine young people going to work and receiving 30 thousand Naira monthly salary. And transportation is consuming whatever they earn. They won’t have any money to feed, pay rent, and send their children to school.

And I think that it is very urgent, let’s put politics aside, the President has to pay attention to the issue of providing for the people who are suffering under the removal of the fuel subsidy.”
