Atiku:Whether I prevail at Supreme Court or not, my effort shall remain for the future generations

The presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Waziri Atiku Abubakar, has affirmed that his commitment to credible elections in Nigeria will serve as an example for future generations, regardless of the Supreme Court’s decision.

In a statement posted to his verified Twitter account on Thursday, Abubakar reflected on the Presidential Election Petition Court’s judgment dismissing his case on Wednesday. He mentioned that the next step is to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Abubakar stated that whether or not his efforts to ensure the integrity of the recent presidential election succeed at the highest court, his endeavors to promote orderly, free, and fair democratic processes in Nigeria will remain a model for the future.

The former Vice President emphasized that his enduring priority is to establish a tradition of transparent elections and robust democratic institutions. Abubakar expressed hope that his legal challenge contributes to strengthening fair electoral practices in Africa’s most populous nation.

Abubakar’s declaration of determination following an adverse judgment has sparked varied responses from both supporters and critics on social media platforms. Some have commended his commitment to advancing democracy, while others have criticized the prolonged legal contestation.
