TribunaI: Since We're Saying The Election Was Rigged, I Expect Supreme Court To Order A Rerun- James Ezike

James C. Ezike, a lawyer, has raised concerns about the legitimacy of the election that resulted in the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He strongly stated that he expects the Supreme Court to order a re-conduction of the election due to alleged rigging, citing a flawed foundation.

During an interview on “The Morning Show,” a program on Arise Television, Ezike made his case for election irregularities. He drew comparisons with Supreme Court rulings in other nations, such as Kenya, to support his argument that the Supreme Court should consider a re-election due to perceived flaws in the election process.

Ezike highlighted a significant issue related to the election. He contended that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) initially announced the use of electronic transmission for the February 25, 2023 Presidential election results, only to later opt for manual collation on the election day. According to him, political parties may have relied on INEC’s initial promise of electronic transmission, and the sudden change in procedure could be seen as fraudulent. Despite not representing any of the parties involved, Ezike insisted that there is a strong case for the Supreme Court to order a new election to address concerns about alleged irregularities and discrepancies in the electoral process.

In his own words he said; “We are saying that the election was rigged. What i expect in this judgement of the Supreme Court that is coming, is to do what other countries like Kenya have done in their Supreme Court judgements: redo the election because the foundation is wrong.”
