Alleged Corruption: Kano Anti-Graft Boss Reacts To EFCC, CCB Investigations

Muhuyi Rimingado, the Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), has responded to inquiries from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB). As reported by Vanguard , the EFCC and CCB have separately initiated investigations into Rimingado and the activities of the Commission, alleging potential corruption. In a communication dated August 8, the EFCC requested Rimingado to arrange for the Director of Finance and Accounts of PCACC to appear at their headquarters in Abuja on Monday. The EFCC has requested the Director to bring documents detailing the funds received by the Commission from the Office of the Accountant General of Kano State between 2019 and 2021, as well as funds from the Kano State Ministry of Local Government during the same period. Additionally, they seek information on executed contracts and beneficiary account details.

On August 14, the CCB sent a letter indicating their investigation into potential violations of the code of conduct for public officers by certain PCACC staff. Rimingado was asked to provide the Bureau with financial records, particulars of forfeited property, and all contractual commitments made by the Commission from 2016 to the present.
