The Court Ruling Has Proven The Integrity And Impartiality Of INEC Chairman, Yakubu -Yerima Shettima

Alhaji Yerima Shettima, the President of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), has responded to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal’s judgment delivered in Abuja. Notably, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, secured victory in the presidential election, defeating strong contenders such as Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Both Peter Obi and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidates for the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party, respectively, challenged Tinubu’s victory in the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja, but their petitions were dismissed by the court the previous Wednesday.

In response, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, as reported by The Sun paper, released a statement on Friday. He praised the integrity and impartiality of INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, stating that Yakubu’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections in Nigeria had been evident in recent elections. He further highlighted that the conduct of INEC and its officials received commendation from many observers, both domestic and international, with only a few sponsored dissenting voices.
