APC NWC Meeting in Abuja Held Without Adamu Present

According to Channels TV, the APC National Working Committee (NWC) was held at the party headquarters in Abuja, with Abubakar Kyari, the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), assuming the chairmanship.

Within the ruling party, an unfolding crisis coincided with the APC NWC meeting, where Senator Adamu’s reported resignation and his absence became apparent.

Reports indicate that Senator Adamu, along with Senator Iyiola Omisore, the National Secretary of the party, have tendered their resignations.

According to certain party insiders, if Senator Adamu does not step down, there is a possibility that a motion of no confidence will be tabled against him, resulting in his expulsion.

As per reliable sources cited by The Punch, it was confirmed that the chairman facing difficulties has indeed tendered his resignation, although conflicting accounts are labeling it as mere speculation.

As of the time of publication, The Punch was unable to obtain official confirmation regarding the reported resignation, while prominent figures within the APC, contacted by our journalists, provided contradictory details.

This development emerged just two days before the highly anticipated and pivotal gatherings of the party’s National Caucus and National Executive Committee.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a member of the APC NWC validated the alleged resignation to our reporter on Sunday evening.

Furthermore, our reporter was unable to promptly verify the precise moment at which Adamu relinquished his position, although it was reported that President Bola Tinubu directed him to step down.

It has been gathered that the resignation letter was conveyed to the President through the hands of Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
