APC National Chairman Is Higher Than The President In Terms Of Hierarchy – Sen. Ajibola Basiru

A former spokesperson for the Senate and the newly elected National Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, has insinuated that the Chairman of the National Working Committee (NWC) and a former Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, is greater than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in terms of hierarchy; as he recounted how the former Lagos governor did not sit untill the former Kano governor asked him to do so at the meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC), that took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

Senator Basiru had said, “After our leader; our National Chairman was sworn in and he came to join us on the high table, the President and the Vice President did not sit untill he gave directive that everybody should sit.”

Basiru, who spoke during an interview on Sunday Politics, a Channels Television programme, suggested that Ganduje is greater than Tinubu in terms of hierarchy. According to him, the former Lagos governor could not have become President if the National Chairman of the party did not sign his form. When asked who is greater between the Chairman of the party and the President, Senator Bashiru recounted how Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, only sat on their seats after Ganduje gave the directive.

Senator Basiru had also mentioned that contrary to speculations that he and Ganduje were anointed by a cabal in the Presidency, they are qualified to serve. He said Ganduje’s experience and achievements earned him the seat of the National Chairman.
