APC moves to reconcile Okorocha, Uzodinma After Uche Nwosu’s appeal

According to the Nigerian Tribune, the passionate plea by Uche Nwosu, a former Chief of Staff to the Imo State government, to Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), appears to be yielding positive results.

In a remarkable turn of events, the former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, and the incumbent governor, Hope Uzodimma, who have been embroiled in bitter political issues, were spotted together at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. They were preparing for a meeting with President Bola Tinubu, a significant figure in the APC.

It is worth noting that Nwosu had previously visited Umar Ganduje at the APC Secretariat in Abuja, urging him to promote inclusivity and foster unity within the party. He emphasized the importance of a united APC in delivering the much-needed benefits of democracy to the Nigerian people.

Accompanied by the APC National Chairman, Uzodimma and Okorocha arrived at the State House and were later joined by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The plan is for Ganduje to lead Uzodimma, who currently serves as the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, and Okorocha, the immediate past governor of Imo State, to President Tinubu’s residence.

This gathering at the Presidential Villa signifies a reunion between Uzodimma and Okorocha, who have been political adversaries for years. Their unexpected appearance together, along with the presence of Ganduje, highlights a potential breakthrough in resolving the conflicts within the party.

At approximately 6:07 p.m., the three of them met with Vice President Kashim Shettima, further underlining their commitment to finding common ground.
